At our recent Share Lunch, Steve Dunn who works for the London City Mission told us of his involvement with St Pauls Church in Harold Hill, Romford, Essex.
Steve runs coffee mornings, bible studies & school assemblies with other church members, much of his time is spent visiting homes on the large estates that make up the district around the church. London City Mission have been established for 180yrs and at present have about 85 missionaries working in and around the London area. Steve has worked for them for 20 years serving as a Railway Chaplain before linking up with St Pauls.
He interspersed his talk with songs he had composed about his Christian Faith accompanying his melodious tenor voice with his guitar, it was a very pleasant and informative after lunch talk.
Our next lunch is on Thursday May 5th starting with soup at 12.30 pm. The guest speakers are Jim & Jean Hasnip from Yorkshire who will tell us about the difficulties of delivering Bibles to the Ukraine, come and join us, you'll be very welcome. Victor Newman.
