Start the New Year with a fresh focus.  For the next five Sunday evenings we are showing the first section of a DVD series that will be a refresher course about the Christian faith.  There will be video input and an opportunity to make comments and ask questions.  The service will be for an hour, from 6:30pm.  Come and share your thoughts or just sit and listen to others if you prefer.  Everyone needs to know who 'The Stranger' is so that the coming year will truly be amazing.

Monday, 19 December 2011

Our service on Christmas Day will be at 10:30am and will last for just 45minutes, so there will be time to deal with the turkey!
The picture is of the drama performance by the Pilgrims last Sunday.  They did so well with limited rehearsal time. The shot was taken by Dave Farrants of Fox Video, who once again prevented us having a technical disaster.
Happy Christmas to you all.

This Sunday

We are looking forward to having Vic and Ruth Newman back from their holiday in Ireland. They, and we hope you, will be joining us for our 11am communion service and at 6:30 for the last instalment of Mike Hencher's quick look at the letter Jude, the brother of the Lord Jesus, wrote which ends in that marvellous prayer, To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
Boy do we need God's help in these difficult days!

TRAC Youth Camp

The children from Dymock really enjoyed themselves at the Tom Roberts Adventure Centre last month. One of them asked if we could run camp every month! We had 64 on camp this time making it a tight squeeze in the dining hall. It's a good job we have already started increasing the size of the kitchen and dining area.
We need more volunteer help and local businesses often send teams to give a day's work. Nat West Bank is offering assistance but we have to compete with others. If you have time and would like to help go to the Natwest community force site. and vote for us. Thanks!

Sunday 18th September 2011

9/11 Anniversary

All of us can remember where we were when we saw the Twin Towers collapse. The world really changed in those moments. Many of us at least thought why did God allow that to happen and maybe even blamed Him. Don't you think it would be better to look at ourselves more closely and the things that we do that displease Him. Coming to church this Sunday would be a wise move and a mark of respect to those who died and those still suffering loss. Our services begin at 11am and 6:30 pm. Chris Rose is responsible for the morning service and Mike Hencher in the evening.

Thursday, 1 September 2011

Sunday September 4th 2011

The 11am prayer and communion service will be taken by our good friend from Maisemore, Brian Knowles J.P. The evening service begins a series in the little letter written by Jude, one of the half-brothers of Jesus. This often neglected letter can teach us many things and Mike Hencher will focus on this epistle, found just before Revelation, each Sunday evening of September.

Monday, 15 August 2011

Sunday 28th August is in the middle of the Gorsley Flower Festival and we plan to support this great annual event, so there will be no services held at the Chapel.

Last chance...

At least it is the last chance to attend a Chapel service in July 2011. How the years flash by! We trust that you have thought about the ultimate questions in life. Who am I? Where did I come from? And vitally, Where am I going? We don't claim to have all the answers by far, but we believe we know Someone who does - the Godman - Jesus Christ. Our services at 11am and at 6:30pm will be led by Mike Hencher. We once again extend an invitation to you.

Thursday, 21 July 2011

This Sunday's Services

Vic Newman will be taking our 11am service which finishes at 11:45am with refreshments. We are delighted to have David Turner as our evening speaker. This time he will not major on the work of the charity Send a Cow, but will no doubt update us on the latest news and encourage us with a message from the Bible delivered in his own inimitable style. Be great to see you.

Thursday, 14 July 2011

Sunday 17th July 2011

The next All-Age-Service will be at 11am. The main story will be about a guy who stood about 3 metres high - when he fell the ground shook! If you are facing giants in your life finding out how one red-headed teenager won the battle with his giant might inspire you.
Our evening service will be taken by local goat farmer Paul Jones. You won't bleat after hearing this young man! The service is from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.

Thursday, 7 July 2011

Parlez - vous Francais?

Victor and Ruth have been on holiday in France recently so Vic may give us his sermon in French at the 11am service. I hope not as my school French wasn't very good! I'm sure they will be telling us a little bit about their adventures.
At 6:30pm Mike Hencher will be taking the service. Do join us if you can.

Thursday, 30 June 2011

Sunday 3rd July

There will be no service on Sunday morning at 11am, but there will be a service at 6:30pm. Mike Hencher will be showing a DVD that will get your "little grey cells" cooking. If you feel up to it you can stretch your mind with us.

Thursday, 23 June 2011

Sunday 26th June

'Flaming June' is a little cool this year, but don't go cool on God. The warmth of his love is always available. Be good to see you at 11am when Mike Hencher will be speaking and at 6:30 for Peter Newman's service.

A Great Weekend Ahead!

On Saturday 11th there's a Free Family Fun Day at the Tom Roberts Adventure Centre, Malswick, just outside Newent on the way to Gloucester. It begins at 11am and runs through to 3pm. Bouncy castles and slides will be available plus the zip line, assault course and many other activities. There'll be a shuttle bus service from Newent Car Park to TRAC. All are welcome and it's free!

The End of the World!

Well, Harold Camping's prediction that the world would end on Saturday was wrong. He should have listened to the words of Jesus who said "Concerning that day and hour no one knows,...but the Father only" (Matthew 24 verse 36). However, before you get too comfortable, Jesus did say that, "Heaven and earth will pass away" in the previous verse. So coming to church matters. We invite you to come this Sunday to hear Vic Newman at 11am and Mike Hencher at 6:30pm.
Next Sunday, the 29th, Vic again will take the morning service and his brother Keith will join us for the evening. We invite you to join us

Thursday, 12 May 2011

It's time for the All-Age Service again at 11:00 - 11:45am. Mike Hencher will be leading us into the Promised Land. Pity about his football team, West Ham United, they seem to be heading the other way! Do come along and cheer him up.
We welcome our good friends Vera and Don Dickinson for our evening service at 6:30. A warm welcome awaits you at both sessions.

Thursday, 5 May 2011

Blessed Assurance is what we need!

Sunday evening's service is a showing of 'The Fanny Crosby Story'. This blind lady wrote 8000 hymns during her life and her story is well worth seeing.
If you can't make it in the evening, Mike Hencher will be continuing his series on the disciple John's First Letter at 11 - 11:45am. You will be most welcome.

Wednesday, 27 April 2011

Royal Wedding Invitation?

No - I didn't get one either, but you are invited the Western Way Chapel this Sunday. Victor Newman will be leading at 11am and his son Philip will be taking the evening service at 6:30pm. If you accept this invitation it could lead to being in the royal family headed by the King of Kings!

Wednesday, 20 April 2011

Our 11am service is being led this week by Chris Rose. Would be great to see you.

The Hope - Not To Be Missed!

Every Sunday evening in April at 6:30pm we are showing part of a series called 'The Hope'. It has been made by a company with connections around the world. Each session will include a section from the DVD followed by refreshments and a chance to discuss what was shown or just chat. These evenings will run for strictly one hour and are open to all.
At 11:00am Mike Hencher will be continuing the series on the first letter that the disciple John wrote to the early Christians that has so much to say to us today. You are very welcome to join us at any time.

Thursday, 17 March 2011

Spring has nearly 'sprung'

The cold weather is being replaced by beautiful sunshine. Why not come as a family to our special service that tries to cater for all ages, this Sunday between 11 and 11:45am.
If you can't make the morning, come in the evening when David Newman, Victor's brother, will be leading our 6:30pm service.

David Remembered - Anthony Welcomed

The dedication of our new equipment in memory of David Davis was in the presence of James and Dawn Davis and Cynthia and Linda. David's sisters. James read the words on the plaque that is now on the wall above the kit to remind us of Dave's faithful service.
It was a great pleasure to be at the installation of Dymock's new rector Rev'd Anthony Lomas last Sunday. We welcome him to the area and pray God's richest blessing on him and his ministry.
Our 11am service will be led by Chris Rose and at 6:30 we have a visit from Arthur Lowe (not Captain Mainwaring) who is the SASRA representative in our area. Please join us for either or both of these service, we will be delighted to see you.

The End of Bibles in Hotels?

I found this on the internet today and could hardly believe the hatred and fear some people have of the Bible. 'As someone who has frequently complained to hotel managers about Gideons Bibles in the rooms I have occupied – “remove it now, or I will clog up the bog with the thing” usually did the trick – I was delighted to learn today that the American Civil Liberties Union has warned a school district in Ohio that it will take legal action if administrators don’t stop Christian busybodies from handing the Bibles to students during class time.'
Our Sunday service at 6:30 will be taken by the Gideons. John Cox will be telling us about the local group of this worldwide organisation which helps so many.
11-11:45 am meeting is the start of a new series of studies, this time on the little letter John who wrote one of the four Gospels. It's a great book full of hope and assurance. If you're lacking in those departments these days - this is for you. Please join us for 45 minutes of God's truth.

In Memory of David Davis

On Sunday 27th February at 11am we will be holding a short service in memory of David Davis who was much loved in the area. It is just over a year since David went to be with his Lord and we are going to dedicate to his memory the new PA and video projector which was very much part of David's vision for the Chapel. All are welcome especially those who knew David at the Chapel or as someone who benefited from his driving school.
The evening service will be taken by Peter Wathen who for many years was the manager at the Good News Centre, Newent.

All-Age Service

You and your family are invited to come to our next All-Age Service this Sunday. We start at 11am and serve drinks at 11:45. Not long to check out stories from the greatest book this world has seen. We will be showing an episode of a cartoon video called Superbook about the life of Moses. Our good friend Brian Knowles from Maisemore will be speaking at our 6:30 service

Monday, 14 February 2011

After our Share Lunch at the Chapel on Thursday at 12:30, the founder and director of the Gloucester City Mission, Mike Curtis, will be telling us about the work they do. In a recent letter he wrote that he was speechless when he discovered a college in Gloucester had 'instructed their Chaplains not to evangelise or give out Bibles.' But he did see a poster which said, 'Get your free condoms and the pill here.' What a strange society we live in.
If you'd like to hear more, come on Thursday it will be well worth it and the meal isn't half bad either!

Monday, 7 February 2011

Happy New Year!

This may be a year of painful cuts, but there's One Person who will never cut us off. We've just celebrated His birth, but remember He is holding this Universe together by His power. If you want to connect to this amazing resource join us on Sunday.
11am Mike Hencher will lead the service and at 6:30pm our good friend Derek Wadley will be doing his best to connect us to the Power. Come and get charged up.
