Holy Land visit
A group of nine people including 6 from Western Way Chapel, visited Israel early in November. On arrival we stayed overnight in Tel Aviv. The next day we traveled to Galilee and stayed in Tiberias for five nights. We visited many sites around the Sea of Galilee, including a Kibutz where there is a 2,000 year old boat, and also had a boat trip across the lake which was lovely. Nazareth and Cana were places we visited to.
When it was time to leave for our four night stay in Jerusalem, we went to Bethlehem on our way to the city. Next on our list of things to do was to walk through the old city of Jerusalem and to visit the Wailing Wall. Other places we went to were the Israeli Museum where the Dead Sea Scrolls are and there is a model of what Jerusalem would have been like back in the time of Jesus. Some of us had the experience of floating on the Dead Sea after visiting Qumran and Masada. a good time was had by all.
